Jerri and her sister Joy began their successful trickriding act at the age of nine and seven respectively. Coined "The Flying Duces" because of their high speed horses, they performed acrobatic stunts on horseback across Canada and the United States.

Their resume includes the World's Fair, Expo 67, the Calgary Stampede, Opening Ceremonies at the Calgary 1988 Winter Olympics, England, Scotland and every major pro rodeo across Canada and many in the United States.

Jerri is married to Lee Phillips, a two time Canadian Steer Wrestling Champion. They live at Carseland, Alberta where she operates her trickriding school, trains horses and works in the film industry as a "wrangler" and a "stunt person." Jerri and Lee own and operate Diamond P Ranch.

 
 

 
 
       

Other highlights in Jerri's career are:

  • Performances of note in the United States include State Fair Rodeos in Louisville, Kentucky; Indianapolis, Indianna; Rochester, Minnesota; Fort Worth, Texas; the Cow Palace in San Francisco; and Madison Square Gardens in New York.
  • Nine times Canadian Barrel Racing Champion on three different horses
  • First Canadian to qualify for the NFR
  • First Miss Rodeo Canada & First Female inductee of the Canadian Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame
  • In November 1997, Jerri was first women inducted into the CRHA Hall of Fame
  • Jerri, Kelly King, and Leo Gooch, a former student, performed in Bermuda. Local horses were provided. Jerri, Kelly and Leo trained them for the upcoming performances.
  • Jerri and Jennifer Hay O'Neill, a student, performed in Japan at an exposition. Local horses were provided. Jerri and Jennifer trained them for the upcoming performances.
  • Jerri starred in "The World of Horses - The Trick Horse". In this documentary, Jerri worked with another young student, Nikki Caemmart, to demonstrate training both the trick rider and the horse.
